I am uncomfortable entering my credit card over the internet; may I place
the order by fax or phone?

Of course you can! At the end of the ordering process you can select to submit your order by fax - simply print out a copy of your order and fax it to 646-415-9436.

How are errors handled?

In most cases, orders with errors made by the manufacturer will be reprinted at no charge and shipped as soon as possible, second day air.

Errors made by the customer will be re-processed as quickly as possible, but we must re-charge for the entire order including shipping. An error made by the customer includes the following situations:

  • text originally submitted with an error
  • an option incorrectly chosen on the online order form
  • an error overlooked on a proof (regardless of submitted text)

Only residents of New York will be charged sales tax (8.365%).

Sophie Says works very hard to keep prices in-line or below suggested retail! That said, the service you will receive from Sophie Says aims to be unparalleled in the stationery and gift industry. What is the "wishlist"?

The wishlist allows you to store items you covet from SophieSays.com and send that list to your someone special so they know just what you want come Valentine's Day, Christmas or even your bridal shower. It's the best way to avoid adding another sweater to that shelf in your closet you can't even reach.

What if I've added some things to my shopping cart, but I'm not ready to
check out yet?

No prob hun! That's why we ask all of our users to register with Sophie Says (click here if you haven't done so yet). This way, all of our registered users can meander the site, add items to their cart or wishlist, and come back anytime of the day or night to finish shopping and make all their purchases at once. Now, how many stationery and gift stores can you say that about?!

How do I use a coupon code or gift certificate?

During the check out process, after you enter your shipping options, you will come to the "Complete Your Order" screen.  At the top of this screen you will see a section called "Discounts".  Please enter the code into the appropriate box (Gift Certificate Code or Coupon Code) and hit apply.  The discount will be noted at the bottom of the screen as a Store Discount.

I've registered with Sophie Says and I still don't see the items I added
to my cart or my wishlist when I come back. What's the deal?

Well my dear, it's time for you to have a cookie. That's right, Sophie Says requires that you enable "cookies" on your browser in order for us to remember what you put into your cart and wishlist. On a diet? Don't worry, they're fat-free, low-carb and actually quite yummy!

To enable cookies on Internet Explorer:
  1. Click on "Tools" in your browser menu
  2. Select "Internet Options"
  3. Select the "Privacy" window
  4. Move the sliding bar to any other setting than "Block All Cookies" (i.e. select High, Medium, Low, or Accept All Cookies)
To enable cookies on Safari:
  1. Open Safari and go to "Preferences"
  2. Click on the "Security" box
  3. Click on "Accept Cookies"
  4. Select either "Always" or "Only from sites you navigate to"

How long will it take for my order to be produced?

Production time will vary by manufacturer and by complexity of the order. Approximate production time will be listed in each product description. Total turnaround time depends on the following factors:

  • whether a proof is involved (for paper items)
  • whether embroidery or personalization is involved (for gift items)
  • production time based on manufacturer
  • time of year (holiday time can increase production time needed by manufacturers to meet demand)

Your order is considered "in production" when one of the following occurs:

  • an order is placed by you (with no request for a proof, or a proof is not offered)
  • your proof approval is received (on orders where a proof was requested)

Can I see a proof of the personalized product I ordered?

Most paper goods manufacturers offer proofs for a small fee. If this option is available, the fee will be listed, and you will be able to select it as you order. In most cases there will also be an option for you to select how you wish to receive the proof: via fax or via e-mail. Please note that requesting a proof lengthens the production time and that your order will not go into production until you approve the proof.

How long will it take for my order to be shipped and how much
will shipping cost?

Shipping costs will be automatically calculated upon checkout and you will see shipping as an itemized cost in your shopping cart.

Sophie Says most often uses UPS as it's shipping carrier.  We offer UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Overnight service; all orders will ship from New York City, unless special arrangements have been made with Sophie Says LLC.

Because most of the items offered by Sophie Says are personalized and custom made to your specifications, shipping time is calculated not from the date you place your order, but rather from the date the goods are received by Sophie Says from the vendor. Approximate production time will be listed in each product description.

Overnight shipping may not be available for all products nor to all destinations.

Can I track my order once it has shipped?

Absolutely. Thanks to the nice folks at UPS you will receive an e-mail once your package has shipped and from there you can simply click and track! I guess "Brown" really can do something for you!

Will my order be drop-shipped directly to me from the manufacturer?

At this time Sophie Says will drop-ship (ship orders directly from the manufacturer to you) certain orders, or parts of orders, from certain vendors, in an effort to keep shipping times and costs to a minium. You will be notified upon shipment.

Can I have my item(s) gift wrapped?

Sure thing darlin'! Sophie would love to put her personal touch on your beautiful gift - what an honor! If gift wrapping is available, there will be an option at check out. Simply check it off and for a mere $5.00 Sophie will hand wrap your gift with a mixture of our signature colors: green, blue and pink.  Depending on the recepient and size and shape of your items, we will use a mixture of our white gift boxes, handmade papers, tissues and raffia ribbons.  With each gift wrapping you can add your own gift enclosure card.  Have a special request, just drop us a note in the special requests section of your order.  PLEASE NOTE - gift wrapping can add a couple to several days onto your order because gift-wrapped items cannot be drop-shipped to you directly from the manufacturer.

How many extra invitations or announcements should I order?

This is entirely up to you, but it is a common mistake for clients to run short due to an address list that unexpectedly grew! It will be far less expensive to bump up your quantity during your initial order than to place a separate order for the lowest quantity offered.

May I begin my order for birth announcements before my baby is born?

Yes, please do! We'd love to hold onto your order and await the arrival of your baby.

If you choose to do so, please submit your order putting "XX" in place of any unknown text. Add any special notes onto the order form. To avoid confusion, do not put any information in the announcement text that is not definite. For instance, please put "XX pounds, XX ounces" rather than guessing "7 pounds, 11 ounces".

May I receive my birth announcement envelopes early?

The following manufacturers offer advance shipping of envelopes for an additional charge:

  • Boatman Geller ($10 plus shipping)
  • Simply Put by Ashley Woodman ($10 plus shipping)
  • Stacy Claire Boyd ($12 plus shipping)

If you are interested, please select the "Envelopes Ahead" option of the online order form. *Note - this option will appear only when available.

I have selected a card that includes printing of my photo.
How do I submit it to you?

If the card you have selected has the option to add a personal photo you will be able to select this option and upload your photo to our server as you place your order. (You may also email the photo to: info@sophiesays.com with your order number in the subject line.) Photo requirements vary by manufacturer and will be listed appropriately. If you have further questions or a special situation, feel free to give us a call and we will help you out. 877-826-1614.

Remember that the quality of the finished product will greatly depend on the quality of your photograph. If necessary, your photo will be cropped for best appearance.

Regardless of manufacturer, your photo submission implies that you either own the image or that you have permission from the copyright holder or owner to reproduce the image, and that reproduction will not violate the rights of any other person. Sophie Says LLC nor its manufacturers will be held legally liable for photo-related issues.
